On the 11thof August, more than 40 international students of College of International Education (CIE) were invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of 2016 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival held in Beijing 798 Art Factory. Mr. SHIChuanren from the International Exchange Center of Kokushikan University, Mr. WANGWei, Dean of CIE, Mr. FU Degen, Vice Dean of CIE, along with some CIE teachersattended the ceremony.
2016 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival was sponsored by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development and co-sponsored by Beijing Wenchuang Technology Co.,Ltd. With the theme of "Show the youth of Beijing, Share with the world", the event was designed with perspectives from young people's life style, visual angle and travel experience. Combining three core topics"International, Youth, Charity", the event organized a sequence of activities named as "Travelling in Beijing", "Photographing Beijing"and "Painting Beijing", and invited well-known experts from home and abroad in relevant fields as mentors to provide professional guidance to the participating Chinese and foreign youths and encourage the foreign students to share the "Beijing story" in their mind in order to build a new and internationalized brand of Beijing tourism.
After the opening ceremony, teachers and students of CIE went sight-seeing around Beijing 798 Art Factory. International students saw and learned about how the formerly large-size industrial factories gradually reformed into galleries, art center, artist studios, design companies, restaurants and bars etc and therefore formed the internationalized "SOHO Art Village" and "LOFT lifestyle".The international students felt that this visit greatly widened their horizon and brought them much excitement. They said that here is the place where they can learn about the connotation of Chinese contemporary culture and art, feel the artistic atmosphere and improve their aesthetic appreciation.
CIE will take this event as a golden opportunity to organize international students to take part in the subsequent series activities of 2016 Beijing International Youth Tourism Festival including the ascertaining craftwork of old Beijing, depicting the colorful Great Wall, visiting the most beautiful village in Beijing, touring authentic Hutongs in Beijing, enjoyingthe latest fashion in Beijing, appreciating the culture of traditional sinologyand so on. In the future, CIE will continue to construct three-level mechanism of culture experience -- "Campus Culture - Beijing Culture - ChineseCulture" so as to help the international students better adapt to the campus and Beijing and cultivate international students with innovation spirits, knowledge of China and friendliness to China.
